1) Safety
We put Safety first, because thats exactly where it
belongs.  Our client's well-being is our primary concern
and #1 priority.  Our guides are certified by the
Association of Whitewater Rafting Guides of Ecuador
(AGAR) and the Ecuadorian Red Cross. All of our trips
are accompanied by a  skilled safety kayaker.

2) Fun
Safety might be first, but it doesn't mean we skimp out
on what matters: The Fun Stuff.  Our friendly staff will
do their best to insure that not a moment goes by that
you are without a smile.  It starts in the boathouse and
doesn't end till we've said our farewells at the end of an
action-packed day.

3) Exploration
We treat each trip as an opportunity for our clients to
explore new environments, surroundings, and
experiences.  Whether this means that it could be a
client's first time in a cloudforest, first time rafting, or
first outdoor excursion, we emphasize the exploratory
nature of extreme sports and their ability to inspire
confidence and newfound passions in its participants.

4) Nature
At Waterdog Tours, we take pride in the fact that we
operate within one of the most biologically diverse areas
of the planet.  All of our trips are within the boundaries
of the UNESCO designated Sumaco Biosphere Reserve.
We consider the ecological health of our watersheds as
crucially important to our continuing ability to provide
our clients with top rate trips in clean and
uncontaminated rivers and ecosystems.  As part of our
commitment to conserving local natural resources, a
percentage of our profits is donated to the Ecuadorian
Rivers Institute and we work in conjunction with Park
Guards from Sumaco National Park and Cayambe Coca
Ecological Reserve.

5) Sustainability
Waterdog Tours is proud to be guide owned and operated
by local residents of the Quijos Valley.  In an area of the
country where the main opportunities for jobs are dairy
farming and oil pipeline maintenance work, we have
committed ourselves to providing a more sustainable
income generation activity for local residents in the form
of adventure based tourism.  We use local guides, local
transportation, local hotels and restaurants, and our
money stays in the community unlike large tourism
operators based out of Quito.
