Multiday/Custom Trips
For those clients who just cant get enough in one day of rafting, we offer
multiday trips that can include two or more of any of the runs listed in the
standard
trip options page.  Food and lodging are included in these
packages.

We are also happy to guide clients to other Quijos Valley attractions as
part of a rafting package or as seperate day trips.  Some of these options
are listed below:
Combine 3 of the following 4 options for a full day excursion - $45 per person
Or add one on top of a half day of rafting in the Quijos. - $30 per person

  • San Rafael Waterfall
-Enjoy a thirty minute hike through lush tropical forest to arrive at the mirador
(viewing point) of the largest waterfall in Ecuador.
-Opportunities to see Toucans, Parrots, and other tropical bird species

  • The Tayos Cave
-Take a thirty minute hike along the banks of the Cacapischo River to arrive  
at a cave that houses the rare and endangered Tayo or Oilbird.  
-Also provides a chance to see the Andean Cock of the Rock or jungle mammals
such as the Koati or Agouti.

  • The Rio Malo Waterfall
-After a thirty minute hike, you arrive at the bottom of this impressive falls.
Swim in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall and for those who dare, stand
beneath the powerful force of the falls itself.
-After enjoying the waterfall, go intertubing down the Malo River until you
arrive where you started at the trail entrance.

  • The Amazon Orchid Garden
-Don't miss a chance to view samples from one of the areas with the highest
species.
-Opportunities to see a variety of pre-Columbian artifacts from ancient valley
inhabitants and learn how edible mushrooms are cultivated by local farmers.

Malo River Waterfall
Explore the uppermost reaches of the magnificent Quijos Valley and
Cayambe Coca Ecological Reserve where alpine tundra, volcano
views, and relaxing hotsprings await. - $45 per person.

Includes:
-Transportation to and from Quito or El Chaco
-Entrance fee to Cayambe Coca Ecological Reserve
-Full day hike through Andean Paramo (Tundra) landscapes in the Papallacta
Lake District with great opportunities for birding and trout fishing.
-Snacks and lunch on the trail
-Entrance fee to the famous hotsprings at Papallacta with a variety of
temperature controlled pools.  The best hotsprings in Ecuador!

This  half day trip takes you into the Waterdog's very own farm
to get a taste of local farm life and tests your skills at rappelling
down waterfalls. - $30 per person

-Wake up early to milk cows with a local family
-Harvest exotic tropical fruits at the farm's orchard to take as
edible souvenirs
-Take a 3 hour hike that passes through primary cloudforest
-Rappel down a series of three waterfalls that promises to be
unforgettable

This option can be added on to the Chaqueno rafting trip.  Clients head to the
farm in the morning and then return to eat lunch in El Chaco.  Then we hit the
river in the afternoon to complete the day.
